Celebrating Through The Years

With my own milestone anniversary approaching this year, I’ve been paying more than the usual amount of attention to all things anniversary this year. New anniversary invitations have taken a change of course in styling recently and they’re so much fun to look through! I am particularly enjoying the new Storyline Anniversary Invitations because they allow the couple to choose multiple photos and share their story over the years in a fun look-back that gets the party started as soon as the invitation arrives in the guest’s mailbox!

While my taste in invitations may not always stick to the straight and narrow, I do enjoy checking in with tradition when it comes to planning a party, too. And because every year of marriage is reason to celebrate, here’s some info to share with you as you celebrate your years together.

Anniversary Colors:
We all know that Silver is for 25th Anniversary and Gold is for the 50th, but did you know that the color for your first anniversary is Yellow? Or that your 12th Anniversary may be symbolized with Oyster White? Here’s a chart for easy reference:

1st Anniversary: Yellow 18th Anniversary: Blue
2nd Anniversary: Linen White 19th Anniversary: Bronze
3rd Anniversary: Light Brown 20th Anniversary: Emerald Green

Invitations aren’t the only aspect of anniversary celebrations to change over the years. Apparently, suggested anniversary gifts have been revamped and modernized over the years, as well. Are you traditional or modern? Or do you just prefer jewelry? This handy chart will help you know what to hint for as your next anniversary approaches:
