The refrain from the classic Christmas tune is so familiar ~

In the meadow we can build a snowman and pretend that he is Parson Brown. He’ll say "Are you married?" We’ll say "No, man, but you can do the job while you’re in town!"

It’s no surprise that 19% of all engagements and 7.8% of all weddings in the U.S. occur in December. With all the twinkling lights, sparkling snow and cuddling to stay warm, it’s a very romantic time of year.

So to all you newly-engaged couples, and those who are celebrating a wedding this month, we say Congratulations and Best Wishes!

For your amusement, here are a few other interesting, and some surprising, statistics about winter weddings:
- 13% of all American weddings occur in the winter and of those, 11% celebrate with a Christmas theme. Check out our Holiday Wedding Invitations!
- About 75% of first-time brides will receive a diamond engagement ring.
- $22,000 is the average amount spent on a traditional American Wedding, of which 28.3 is spent on the reception, 11.5% is spent on the Bridal Gown, 0.8% is spent on the groom’s attire, 11.5% is spent on the wedding rings and 2.8% is spent on the wedding invitations.
- Most American weddings occur in the afternoon. Just 31% occur in the evening and a mere 16% occur before noon.
- 99% of American couples who celebrate with a traditional wedding ceremony and reception will follow it with a honeymoon. The honeymoon will average 1 week and the favorite honeymoon destinations of American newlyweds is just about tied between, you guessed it!, Hawaii and the Caribbean.

If you are one of the lucky ones and were surprised by a special bauble under the tree this year, watch our Facebook page for our special promotion on Save The Date Cards in January!
